    The ECU is professionally removed and sent to AutoTuner in Luxembourg.

    After unlocking, the ECU is refitted. Your chosen tuning is a separate service.

Where should we remove your ECU?

The appointment covers checking and receiving or removing the ECU. Unlock takes 3–5 working days; the vehicle cannot be used then. Selected tuning follows afterwards. Contact us before mailing.

ECU Unlock questions

What is ECU Unlock?

The ECU is your engine computer. A locked ECU cannot always be tuned directly through OBD. Unlocking enables supported tools to read and write its software. Unlocking alone does not increase power.

Does my car need unlocking?

Some ECUs manufactured after June 2020 are locked. Model year alone is not enough: we check vehicle details, ECU type and, where needed, production date. Contact us before ordering.

How long does mail-in unlock take?

Allow 3–5 working days for the unlocking procedure. Transit and receipt can extend the overall turnaround. Your vehicle cannot be used while the ECU is removed.

What guarantee is included?

AutoHan covers a replacement ECU if your ECU is damaged during unlocking or shipping. This extra procedure guarantee is separate from our two-year software warranty.

Is tuning included in €449?

No. €449 including VAT covers ECU Unlock. Your tuning package is chosen and paid separately. Tuning-package discounts do not apply to unlocking.

Can I mail my ECU?

Yes, contact us first for suitability checks and shipping instructions. Have the ECU professionally removed, protect its connectors and pack it securely. Do not ship without our confirmation.
